We ventured out on a Sunday to go and try the roast dinner.I would highly recommend the meal there was a choice of Turkey,Beef and a vegetarian option.The food was piping hot and very generous portions.Which was served by very helpful and pleasant staff.will definitely be going again.Highly recommended.

Lakeside kitchen... Lovely breakfast and very pleasant staff. Views of the lake from inside the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic place to visit! Hands down! The hire of boats etc is a bit pricey, but once in the water, it’s a great place to teach younger kids how to row in a canoe or kayak, food on site (chips, burgers etc) as well as cheeky lakeside drinks. The water was lovely and clean, enough to ‘fall out the boat’ and have a good swim! People who go regularly were lovely and happy to talk to new people and speak highly of this place. Would strongly recommend and cannot wait for our next trip!

We visited Alderford Lake and spent over £250, only to be hit with a £40 parking charge due to unclear communication about parking fees. If I had known, I would have gladly paid the £3 parking charge upfront. Penalising loyal customers who spend significant amounts on-site like this is ridiculous and entirely avoidable. This short-sighted approach, coupled with their arrogant refusal to address feedback, has put us off returning. As a result, we won’t be bringing our large family group next year. Instead, we will visit venues where pricing is transparent, and customers aren’t blindsided by hidden charges. This is such poor business practice and can’t be good for their long-term success—what a shame.

Lovely food in the Cafe, and good service but you have to pay for everything. Watch the parking as it's only free for a short time and they have zero tolerance cameras on the gates. No EV charging either.

Went recently for the ice skating. Loved it. Friendly staff. Great facilities and food. Outstanding hot chocolate drinks. Clean, tidy and well laid out.

I've been coming here for quite a while. During summer it's a perfect place for wild swimming, however if the weather is good it can get quite busy. And there's a lot of alge getting everywhere. You can paddle board, kayak or conoe if you wish. There are toilets and coffee shop. There's 3h free parking but if you want to stay longer you need to pay. You need to pay to enter - it doesn't matter if you want to swim or just walk around you are charged. And I suppose I don't quite agree with it. I think access to all the lakes should be free. But on the other hand they hire all this people including lifeguards so I suppose they earn money this way. There's also a summer festival with different bands. And during Christmas you can go to an iceberg which we did, see Santa or go ice-skating. Ice bar was an interesting experience. I think we paid £15 and we had 2 drinks included. You can choose from alcohol or alcohol free. I think the choice isn't great but whatever is there is good. And you have 20 minutes to stay in -12 temperatures so hats, gloves and scarfs are a must. Again I think you need to experience it yourself before making a judgement. But it was OK .

Ice skating here is a massive disappointment and an accident waiting to happen. My nephew and I are good skaters and spent 30 minutes avoiding arms flailing left, right and centre from inexperienced kids, parents and far too many "penguins" being on the ice and poorly used. 70 skaters on the ice felt like there was not a single patch of ice spare, yet the staff state the maximum is 90. A total waste of money, with skate blades that are in grave need of sharpening.

Whilst we enjoyed our food here today, we were overcharged by the general manager in the cafe in error and made to wait for a refund while other customers were served. It was clear that she was not concerned we had been Overcharged and clear that she found it inconvenient that we were asking for the bill to be corrected. When we spoke to a very helpful young man who worked there and asked to speak to the manager we were told that the lady who had been so unhelpful WAS the manager. I cannot believe that someone who is running a restaurant has such appalling customer service skills - retraining is needed.

It was busy. We immediately noticed food being returned. My partner had veg soup and sandwich. The soup came cold straight from the fridge. She sent it back and it returned scalding hot. When she tried it after eating the sandwiches that seemed like they had been made yesterday, the soup was tasteless. No seasoning, lots of carrots. Veg from Christmas dinners? However my sausage bap was pretty decent and I'm fussy with sausages. No chuckles, please. The coffee, a flat white, wasn't. It was a milky coffee . So just about passable as a whole.

We had an amazing time at the ice bar yesterday. Would highly recommend it is something completely different. We had to cancel at late notice before Christmas because of a parent being admitted to hospital and they very kindly changed to booking without charging us again we were very grateful and a lovely gesture thank you
